WEB Tamayo Perry, known for his exceptional surfing skills, dedication as a lifeguard, and memorable acting roles, has passed away.

Kurt Lager, Acting Chief of the Ocean Safety Department, expressed his deep sorrow at a news conference on Sunday, describing Perry as "a lifeguard loved by all." Perry, 49, served as an eight-year veteran of Honolulu Ocean Safety and was widely recognized as a renowned North Shore waterman.

Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi also mourned Perry's loss, calling it a "tragic loss." Perry's career extended beyond lifeguarding, with roles in popular films such as "Lost," "Hawaii Five-0," "Blue Crush," and "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle." He also appeared in a Coca-Cola advertisement.
